How does your garden grow?

8 May

I hope it’s not too gauche, but I aspire to be garden proud. Not that I have a crazy-big yard or anything, but I want it to be nice – the kind of garden that just makes you smile to see. Blooms and texture and color: these are a few of my favorite things.

This morning, we had a landscape designer come over and start working on some plans for the yard. It was a wonderful experience! He was curious, studious, and quite tactful (which I very much appreciated given the lack of garden-pride I currently have).

And… We now have a plan for the front yard!front yard garden plan

He was careful to include some of my favorites, but those sure are hard to name! I made sure to include several kinds of lilies, hydrangea, peonies, as well as hostas and lamb’s ear (gotta have good foliage!). I’m never very good on the spot, though, so I’m sure I missed some of my favorites. What would you add to your garden?

Peonies are my absolute favorite! I LOVE them, but I would need to rent out your green thumb in order for them to grow!

This looks lovely and not gauche at all 🙂

I’ve never had peonies in my garden, so that’s (at this point) a work in progress. Pictures are sure to follow!

      Thank you so much!
